Near Stra is the 17th-century Villa Foscarini-Rossi, once a holiday home for noble Venetian families and now a museum dedicated to luxury footwear. Renowned architects, such as Vincenzo Scamozzi, Francesco Contini, and Giuseppe Jappelli, and distinguished painters and decorators, such as Pietro Liberi and Domenico de Bruni, were called upon in the design of this villa. The villa and guesthouse are open to the public and converted into a museum venue with spaces used for conferences, exhibitions, displays and receptions.
The Rossimoda Museum of Footwear, featured in the villa, was the brainchild of Luigino Rossi, president of the eponymous shoe factory, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary to present the company's most important pieces.
