Villa Gradenigo stands not far from our B&B and is one of the oldest Venetian Villas on the Brenta Riviera. It was built in 1529 by the Scarpa family of Bergamo origins. It had, later, many other owners and is still privately owned today. Its name changed several times over time: it was "Villa Stella," "Pellegrini-Fossati," today famous as Gradenigo family that actually was only its tenant.
In 1960 it was acquired by the Ente per le Ville Venete, which arranged for an important and skillful restoration. Thanks to these interventions, two important works by Benedetto Caliari were recovered: 'The Magnanimity of Alexander the Great' and the episodes of 'Muzio Scevola'.
