Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari is a magnificent example of a French-style rococo villa. Strategically located almost halfway between Venice and Padua, it was built by Venetian nobles as a holiday home. The current owner of the Villa is the Metropolitan City of Venice, which recently oversaw its restoration, fully restoring the splendor of the past.
The entire complex consists of the Dominical House, the Barchessa, the Greenhouses, the Oratory, the Garden, and the Monumental Park. The Park in particular deserves a careful visit: verges, cypresses, horse chestnuts, and soft stone statues such as nymphs and cupids frame a romantic pond of late 19th-century creation that makes this place unique in the world.
